Visual Identity Competition 2022 – Closed

After nearly four years of serving the Ethiopian creative industry, we are changing our name and re-branding. 

We are very excited that you are here and please read the below sections carefully before submitting.

The rules

  • Open only to Ethiopian professionals, students & amateurs from any field living in Ethiopia

  • Open to individuals or groups of no more than three

  • Open to those who submit according to the outlined requirements

  • We are becoming ተረከዝ (Terekez), so the logo should incorporate our new name
  • We choose ተረከዝ (Terekez) as our work is about being the stepping stone for emerging artists to get where they want to
  • Your work must reflect our Ethiopian and African heritages innovatively
  • Your work must also reflect our target audience – the emerging Ethiopian creative
  • Please spend some time on our website to really understand what we do
  • The logo must be appropriate for a professional business setting
  • Please do not use gradients and half-tones
  • Competition opens on 4th April 2022 – መጋቢት 26 2014
  • Deadline is Friday 6th May 2022 – ሚያዝያ 28 2014
  • Late submissions will not be considered
  • Selection committee will review submissions week of the 9th May 2022 – ግንቦት 1 2014
  • Winner(s) will be notified week of the 16th May 2022 – ግንቦት 8 2014
  • More than one submission is acceptable, but each submission must be sent in separately
  • There is no fee to enter the competition
  • Your work must be submitted electronically via the apply now button below
  1. Entries must include Logo presentation (with mock ups), Colours and Patterns
  2. The above should be in 1 PDF file only
  3. PDF document should not have names or identifying details included
  4. Descriptive text should not exceed 300 words and can be in Amharic and/or English
  5. If you are selected, must be willing to make amendments if needed 
  6. If you are selected, you must be prepared to provide a brand guideline as well as social media, Arts Mailing List newsletter, roll up banner, PowerPoint and certificate mock ups
  1. Brand expression: your work should effectively embody and communicate the layers of our brand meaning and what we do
  2. Creativity: Your work should be simple, original, creative and memorable
  3. Aesthetics: The character should unapologetically reflect our unique Ethiopian and/or African heritages in a creative manner
  4. Publicity: Your work should resonate with our target audience and the public at large
  • Winning entry will be selected by a panel and their decision will be final
  • Entries will be judged by the evaluation criteria set out above
  • The prize for the winning entry is 20,000etb

  • Winning entry will be credited on our website, newsletter and all of our social media platforms
  • The prize remains the same regardless of the size of the team submitting the winning entry
  • The top 10 submissions will be featured in the Arts Mailing List newsletter
  • Entrants affirm their submissions are their own original work, have not been copied from others or from previous designs, including their own, and do not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity
  • Selected work will become the sole property of Bruh club/Terekez and may be used for any purpose, including, but not limited to, display on websites, business cards, letterhead, posters, and other materials as needed
  • Bruh club/Terekez shall have the right to adapt, edit, modify, or otherwise use the winning submission in part or in its entirety in whatever manner it deems appropriate
  • Bruh club/Terekez reserves the right to choose not to use the winning entry as described in these contest guidelines
  • If the winner is determined to have violated any rules, he/she will be required to forfeit or return the prize, even if the determination is made after the prize has been awarded
  • We are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or otherwise unusable entries, including entries that are lost or unusable due to computer, internet, or electronic problems.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or modify the competition and award the prize by alternate means if fraud or technical failure is determined at any time by the team including after the submission window has closed.
  • We are not liable, for the purpose of winner and prize notification and delivery, in the event the winner has provided incorrect, outdated, or otherwise invalid contact information.
