Bruh Club is working in partnership with Lovegrass a London and Addis Abeba based start-up.

We are helping them recruit a part-time Graphics Designer to join their growing team in Addis who will be key in supporting them tell the Lovegrass story effectively.

Job description

An outstanding combination of natural nutrients that promote endurance, performance and overall good health elevate teff above other grains, giving its ‘super-food’ status. Lovegrass was established to bring prosperity to Ethiopia and its people through the commodity of ጤፍ (teff).
With its offices in Addis as well as London, Lovegrass is a start-up born to bring about global recognition to this wonder grain and the hands that have toiled for centuries to sustain the farming traditions and preserve its nutritional values to the fullest, free from pesticide or chemicals.
By affording teff farmers the acknowledgment and opportunity to trade with the world, we are empowering them to raise themselves out of poverty and live better lives. Equally, we are passionate about the fact that all consumers, wherever in the world they live, should be able to access quality teff based products telling the story of this spectacle grain.
The graphic designer is a key member of the team responsible for designing and producing high-quality, communications and engagement collaterals to support the delivery of the organisation’s communications and engagement strategies. In this role, you will work to design and deliver campaigns to increase our public engagement, raise the profile of this wonder grain, tell the story of Ethiopia.
  • Act as lead specialist for graphic design
  • Understand current design trends and apply them to your work
  • Research industry-related topics
  • Actively identify design needs and propose relevant solutions
  • Produce high quality, impactful, multi-platform design materials to present information in an eye-catching way based on the Ethiopian experience to a global audience
  • Produce design assets within brand, web and accessibility standards to agreed timelines
  • Work collaboratively to effectively communicate design rationale to all stakeholders
  • Seek and provide sound and constructive feedback as necessary
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all materials produced
  • Support the management of the files and photo library and conduct an annual review
  • Work flexibly to provide support on any other ad hoc projects

  • Organised: Able to manage projects effectively to agreed deadlines, and keep colleagues involved and up to date

  • Passion: You must be passionate about our work and mission
  • Willing to commit to 3 working days per week
  • Able to show relevant work experience (paid or unpaid)
  • Be Ethiopian based in Ethiopia
  • Good level of English
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Amharic
  • Willing and able to take initiative
  • Open to learning and must be versatile
  • Have a portfolio of previously published works
  • Have experience doing research using multiple sources
  • Familiar with web publications and social media platforms
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office
  • Some knowledge of HTML, CSS, CMS platforms and Motion design/animation
